A SHEPHERD AT SIXTY-FIVE(PART ONE).

Sixty-five years of grace, my Bishop, we celebrate,
A life poured out in service, faithful, strong, and free.
From youthful zeal to wisdom’s crown, your footsteps show the way,
You’ve fed the flock with truth and love, night and day.

Through seasons of both storm and sun, your staff has guided well,
You point us always back to Christ, His story you still tell.
A father to the fatherless, a friend when burdens weigh,
Your life proclaims the Comforter who never goes away.

So on your birthday we pray for more: more health, more joy, more light,
More years to watch God’s kingdom grow beneath your watchful sight.
May Psalm 92:14 be yours: “still bearing fruit in old age.”
Happy 65th, my Bishop! You’ve run a glorious race.
