IMO SWAN CONGRATULATES NEW NATIONAL OFFICERS.

The Cosmos Chukwuemeka-led Imo Sportswriters have congratulated all newly elected national officers at the recently concluded 2026 triennial national delegates Congress in Kaduna.
Some of the new officers included Comrade Isaiah Kemje Benjamin(re-elected National President), Comrade Ikemefuna Asika (Vice President, South East Zone) and Ijeoma Nwante, who was elected National Financial Secretary.
A congratulatory message jointly signed by the Secretary, Tunde Liadi, Imo SWAN Chairman, Cosmos Chukwuemeka, described the successful congress and elections as another important step in strengthening the Association.
It observed that Benjamin’s re-election would provide him with another opportunity to consolidate on the gains of his first term, particularly in the areas of members’ welfare, professional development, unity and strengthening of state chapters.
The message urged the reelected SWAN President to run an inclusive administration and continue to build stronger relationships with relevant sports bodies and stakeholders for the benefit of members and Nigerian sports journalism.
It also described Asika's emergence as Vice President of the South East Zone as an opportunity to promote greater cooperation among chapters in the zone and charged him to work closely with the five state chapters as well as listen to their concerns and ensure that the South East remains united and properly represented at the national level.
The message equally urged Nwante to bring transparency, accountability and diligence to the management and documentation of the Association’s finances just as it wished other newly elected national and zonal officers a successful tenure pledging the support and cooperation of Imo State Chapter.
