AND THE APC WOMEN LEADERS IN OWERRI-WEST CAME CALLING.
Last Tuesday,12th May, 2026, was a special day as the newly elected APC Women leaders of the 10 Wards in Owerri West LGA, came calling on the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon Chief Victor Nnamdi Osigwe (IKEOHA) in his office at Umuguma.
The elegantly dressed Ward Women leaders, were led by the LGA Party Woman Leader, Lolo Ugochi Okpor and her deputy, Mrs Happiness Madubata.
Explaining why they came, Lolo Okpor, said, it was to formally and officially identify with their APC Numero uno in the LGA, a great and performing son of the soil and Chief Executive of the Owerri West LGA.
Lolo Okpor eulogized the Executive Chairman on his numerous achievements since he mounted the saddle assuring him that the entire Owerri-west APC women were solidly behind him.
Welcoming the Women, an overwhelmed Ikeoha congratulated them for emerging victorious during the APC Ward congress and reminded them
that they have assumed very strategic positions of leadership in their Wards and as such, they should bear in mind the popular saying that, "to whom much is given, much is also expected.
IKEOHA charged them to move into their various wards and mobilize their fellow women into joining the APC asserting that he was yet to see reasons why APC would not record a hundred percent victory at the forthcoming general elections starting from the presidency because the good works of the 3R Government of His Excellency,Dist.Senator Hope Uzodimma(Onwa Oyoko) coupled with what his people-oriented administration in Owerri West LGA, has achieved.
According to Hon Osigwe, the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government has really performed advising that the Party would not tolerate lukewarm attitude in any way especially in this critical period of preparation for the general elections.
He then assured them of his administration's maximum support to enhance their performance and quickly announced the inclusion of all the APC Ward Women leaders in Owerri West LGA in his payroll and told them that they will be getting a monthly stipend beginning from this May month end.
With that singular pronouncement the women burst into joyous mood singing and dancing in appreciation to the Council Executive Chairman's gesture.
In her vote of thanks, the LGA Woman Leader, Lolo Ugochi Okpor expressed their gratitude to Ikeoha saying that the women leaders would not disappoint the party and equally pledged their support to his administration.
