THE COURTESY VISIT OF THE MILLENNIUM.
--As IKEOHA leads.
By Innocent Osuoha.
To some people politics is a dirty game but for others politics is a clean game, lts only some players that are dirty.
The earlier we start seeing politics/election from the perspective of a football match the better for us which in turn frees us from high blood pressure.
In a football contest, both teams must have prepared well before entering the pitch and of course hoping to carry the day after the full ninety minutes game with or without any extra.
At the end of the match, a team wins because a winner must emerge. At the final blast of the referee"s whistle all players who had entered the pitch with clean hearts embrace each other while those with "dirty" minds(apologies for the word) leave the pitch with pale faces, brooding.
The contentious Imo House of Assembly is come and gone especially in Owerri west. A winner was declared at the last blast of the Central Referee's whistle. Many of the aggrieved who believe in the supremacy of the Party are already realigning.
It is here you must give it to the Owerri west team Captain, Hon Chief Victor Nnamdi Osigwe, IKEOHA, who recently led the Owerri-west first eleven on a Courtesy call on Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi and that is the spirit of a good sportsman.
While commending IKEOHA and his team for that visit, we should all forget the past, close ranks and move ahead.
Honestly, politics must not be a do or die affair because in every competition a winner must emerge.
We can anchor on the biblical injunction at 1 John 2:1 and then remember the Igbo aphorism, " o ji ihe nwata welie aka elu....". It is consolatory enough.
If you have made up your mind to pick holes with anybody as regards the last House of Assembly primaries, gear up, shake off, make amends and still remain friendly for there is always a tomorrow.
