As a way of ensuring compliance to directives by the Council, the Executive Chairman of Owerri-west, Hon Chief Victor Nnamdi Osigwe, IKEOHA, on 2/4/26, paid a working visit to the Irete market along Owerri/Onitsha road.
The visit which was the second time, was to ensure that traders at the market complied with a directive to stop displaying their wares along the trunk "A" which had often caused accidents.
Earlier on 4/3/26, IKEOHA was at the market, again, to supervise the erection of dwarf walls there during which "no ware display areas" were mapped out at the market.
It would be recalled that on 17/3/26, a fatal accident was averted because the traders, mostly women, displayed their wares in a manner that they abstructed traffic flow.
Ikeoha was accompanied on this recent trip by his SA on Monitoring and Compliance, Hon Victor Agim, SA Entertainment, Angel Ogbuehi and his SA(New Media) Hon Kachison Ekwugha.
