Their faces radiated and they beamed with smiles as they listened to their new Council Boss, Hon Chief Victor Nnamdi Osigwe, IKEOHA, address them.
The scenario played out yesterday, 7th May, 2026, at the Council headquarters, Umuguma, where the Executive Chairman welcomed all the newly posted Staff there at the end of a massive transfer exercise by the State Local Government Civil Service Commission.
Welcoming the Staff at a forum, Ikeoha encouraged them to be dutiful and regular to work, assuring them of his continued commitment to creating an enabling environment where their efforts would be valued, welfare is prioritized, and their potential truly thrive.
Chief Osigwe restated that his administration has continued to witness steady progress which translates to a true reflection of their steadfast commitment to productivity and excellence.
According to him, "our workers are the backbone of our society, and their contributions continue to inspire us to build an Owerri West that thrives on fairness, innovation, and opportunity for all."
The Executive Chairman used the opportunity to commend the State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma, CON, for his deliberate efforts to improve the welfare of Imo workers through salary reviews and people-focused policies adding that the steps were timely and reflected a clear commitment to enhancing the living standards of our workforce.
He then urged the new Staff to remain steadfast and hopeful as the seamless togetherness would shape a brighter future for Owerri West and Imo at large.
